Garmin 2013 Navigation Outdated and Unrecognised on Garmin Program

Featured Replies

Hi all! Trying to update my 2013 Sat nav in my Citigo, it's detachable from the top of the dash so I've plugged it in and downloaded the recommended program Garmin suggest but nothing. My laptop knows it's there but the app doesn't. It's not a huge issue but the satnav can become unreliable these days due to road changes (i.e., pedestrianisation, speed changes) so I was hoping to get it more up to date or replace it if that's possible.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

what model Garmin is it?

Sorry yes it's a 10R-04-6953, M/N: 4NSF

The screen reads: BL: 1.70, OS: 1.00, BT: H14423-V2R9

A google search of that 10R number returns it as  Navigon product

https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=pX8uMCBimy5AgndL0bleG6

Effective December 1st, 2020, all NAVIGON products and NAVIGON Customer Support have been discontinued.  The APPs and in-APP purchases are no longer able to be reinstalled and updates are no longer available.

I would replace it with one of these

https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/navigation/car-gps-sat-nav/go-classic/#5inch

Updates automatically via WiFi and many other features for £119

Updates the map approx every three months

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated, I think you're right it's time to bite the bullet

It appears to be about the size of new mapping.

Even the Tom tom lifetime map promise is not for the persons lifetime.

It is only until the mapping gets too big for the memory of the unit.

Some older Garmin products have an sd card slot and they appear to be still supported through that capability

I suspect the navigon products didn't have one.

It actually does have an SD card slot, so it's a little annoying they didn't go this route if that was the problem

Maybe worth a double check on the instructions for garmin express?

I'll have another look.

Got stuck again at
