Service Plan

Featured Replies

Hey,

I asked the dealership to provide me with a detailed service plan and they blatantly refused.

For example, 2 years in what do I exactly need to service? Etc.

My friend owns a 2024 Dacia Sandero Stepway and he has a detailed service plan in the phone app.

Where can I find a service plan for my 2021 Kamiq?

Thanks.

Not much of a Service Plan or Schedule from Skoda or guidelines, recommendations or specifications.

What engine and gearbox do you have?

You can pay and check with erWin.   But just go speak to the boss in the garage and ask why the staff are crap & unhelpful.

This is Fixed Servicing intervals.

DQ200 DSG,s have no servicing intervals.

Hey,

I have the 1.5 TSI with the DSG.

My VIN is TMBGK7NW4M3138854 if it helps.

All that a Skoda Main Dealer might do if you pay is there then.

Just no servicing of the DSG required.

(Cam belt was not at 50,000 miles / 5 years for your car anyway in Romania & now in the UK VW Group have dropped that recommendation.)

Maybe best not use the Main Dealer and get a good garage that will service brakes and do servicing and preventative maintenance and not just tick off on a worksheet stuff.

Hey,

Thanks for your input but the car is a lease and until the lease is finished, we must do it at the dealership.

Thanks for the info!

You know that not very much will be getting done by them then, but they might want plenty money to do not much.

So just ask again what actually they have as a Schedule for servicing in the period of the lease.

?

When do you  have it till, year and km done?

  • Author

I will ask them.

I have 2 years of lease left and it then becomes my vehicle.

No maximum kms or anything like that.

Reading this with interest. Don't have a Kamiq but same service regime with my car.  I tried to book my 3rd service online but I'm now confused as hell. The service plan is provided by VWFS so it may just be their wording but...

My car is 3yr old. 1st two services were covered by a servcie plan when I purchased the car, so far it's been serviced exactly as expected.  I've now taken out another service plan for yr 3 and 4. HOWEVER...

Year3 should be the inspection and extended scope service, year 4 the inspection service as per Skoda shedule but when booking online the system tells me I can use either one of the 2 services in the plan I purchased...   oil service or inspection service.   WTF ?

I now need to check with the dealer themselves because if they're only going to do an oil service then Skoda's servcie plan literature and pricing examples are misleading.

I took out the plan when it was on special offer - 24 x £16 payments =£384 in total.  The normal price is 24 x £19 = £456.

If you were to PAYG then using Skodas own fixed pricing that equates to  £255 ( ext scope ) + £195 ( inspect ) = £450 which ties in with the normal service plan price.

But if it's just inspection ( £195 )  + oil servcie  ( from memory I think it's about £180 ) that totals  = £375.  Could it be possible Skoda are charging £450 for a plan that's worth £375 ?

Why oh why do Skoda and VW in general make servicing so ****ing confusing ?  I know what I'm taking about and I still haven't a clue !  🤪

If on Fixed / Annual Servicing than at 4 years if about 40,000 miles it should an 'Oil & Inspection Service and a Pollen Filter replaced.'

Spark plugs changed if paying extra if not included in a plan.

@ 5 years an Oil & Inspection Service & Extended Scope & unless included there would be the Brake Fluid change due.

That is as far as Skoda UK Guidelines, recommendations on the websites they publish and dealerships seem to also show.

A bit of pre or post winter servicing of brakes would really be in order, but then the Visual Inspections should maybe have the owner being advised of that and not just a advisory to replace discs and pads.

Thanks a lot toot!

I just called them for the 2nd year oil change and they said a brake fluid change is mabdatory.

Isnt that too soon?

They should be able to show you were in writing it is mandatory.

From about 2010 Brake Fluid replacement showed as being at 2 year and each 2 years to first at 3 years and then each 2 years.

In the past year it appears that people have been seeing or being told for some models like Mk4 Fabia & Octavia it is now again First @ 2 years then each 2 years.

So the question is does not having the Brake fluid changed first at 2 years invalidate a manufacturers warranty on any brake component claim?

Is testing of Brake Fluid @ 2 years for H2o content not sufficient?

Maybe in the past over a decade VW Group know something new from when they changed their recommendations, guidelines, specifications or even schedule.

I don't mind changing it, but they asked for 90 euros to change my air filter, I'd rather do it myself for 10...

Either way, thanks a lot for your insight!

The Pollen / Cabin filter @ 2 years is easy and cheap and you and vacuum and wash the area.

The Air Filter started showing at 6 years when it used to be @ 4 years / 40,000 miles.  Surely should be checked every time & cleaned or replaced.

Vacuum it, knock it a bit to clear out, or if dirty replace.

I am surprised they are not saying the AC service is mandatory @ 2 years old.

They are taking the Michael really.

Is there an AC service needed?

Can you please elaborate?

No not really at year 2, 3 or 4 or unless needed.

-But it is on actual service schedules if they want to bring it up, and an up-selling item in the UK.

They will tell you why you should have one quite possibly but ask if they would and see what they say.

The garage confirmed my service plan is setup as I had expected and not as per the online booking system.

So an oil service isn't an oil service but an oil+inspection, and an oil+inspection service is actually an inspection+extended scope service.   :D

And I'm just back from GoOutdoors in Clydebank where their manager was trying to tell me that the water resistant jacket I bought lets showers go straight thru it.

I'm having one of those days wondering if it's just me or is life supposed to be this confusing?
