Fault codes P0031 and P0036 together - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Bank

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2011 Fabia 1.2TSI.  Engine light is on and both these codes are recorded.  If I clear them, they both come back.

The lower O2 sensor was replaced last year after it brought the light on and recorded a single code.

Some online research suggests it could be a blown fuse if both are showing as not operating - Have had a look at the fuse box diagram but unsure if this is correct or if there is even a fuse.  Can any one shed any light?

I did find the fuses concerned but none of them were blown - so maybe we do have 2 faulty Oxygen sensors after all.

Is the car using any oil? If so the sensors are most likely fouled and will need replacing anyway.

No it doesn't appear to be - although it has been laid up for a bit due to another issue, its just been re mot'd and taxed from today so I will see how it gets on after I go out for a run.

Fuse 31 amongst the ones you checked? That supplies the sensors' heaters.

Yes, I was hoping for a quick easy fix with fuse 31, but alas it was ok and not blown.   Part of the exhaust has been recently replaced (back box) so although thats miles away, I 'm going to check the post cat sensor wiring hasn't been disturbed.  Not sure about the pre cat one - but its possibly original and the car has done 127k miles now so it owes me nothing!
