over rev at idle speed

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon,

I wonder if somebody to help me with my problem with the idle speed. My car is a 2007 Octavia vrs diesel .At normal idle speed it approx 7500 rpm then after a while it goes to 10000 RPM.I turn the engine off and start again then drops back to 7500 rpm few miles down the road it goes back up again.Could this be a problem with the air flow meter? or something else.?

Ideas much appreciated.

Thanks to you all in advance,

Bob

A mod can maybe move your post to the Octavia section.

Have you slipped a decimal place? No way does a TDi run 10_000 RPM.

Is it trying to do a DPF regen - does 2007 TDI have DPF?

With the BMN or CGEA, yes.
