Canton speaker issue or firmware?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Today my Canton suddenly stopped working.. I don't know what happened but what does not work:
Subwoofer
Rear doors speaker, except tweekers they working

Front speakers working normally, looks like issue with all canton system.. how can I check something more? should I plug / unplug amplifier? or check subwoofer connection?

Could it be amplifier?

Btw had firmware update few days ago but everything was working fine..

Seems coincidental that this has happened not long after u did a firmware update.

Likely u need to get the Canton re-parameterized.

Have u done a scan?

Any errors?

Update:

Checked amplifier cables MOS and etc, everything is connected.

I don't know wat the process is to re-parameterize the Canton.

Perhaps a visit to the service centre to see if they can help u out.

Otherwise @varooom might have some ideas?

Hi.

This happened to mine Cantoned Superb.

The rear speakers only have mid and top end as standard. All the rear bass is supplied through the subwoofer.

On mine the wire on the subwoofer cone came off.

Once the subwoofer speaker was removed and the wire soldered back on it was all back to normal.

This youtube has info.

long story short, after VAG diagnostics and repairs they determined that problem was in subwoofer.. software update and subwoofer issue was just coincidence, thank you everyone for advices, case closed :)
