Crash data reset

Featured Replies

Hi guys.
I ran off the road with my car and the airbag exploded! Fortunately I only blew one tire, but the right curtain airbag exploded. Is it possible to reset the airbag control unit with Vagcom or do I have to buy a new or used one?

thank you

I believe it can be reset but only with ODIS or taking it out and sending it away to someone like ecu testing or another ecu repair company

£30 and a 24 hour turnaround when I had the crash data reset on mine.

Couple of firms doing so on Ebay.

You may well have unseen chassis damage, it takes a lot for the controller to deploy an airbag, often the resultant damage is not visible which was the case on my vehicle.

can you tell me the link of this item?

fortunately chassis is not damage.

In my case the damage is to the steering and suspension elements of the right wheel and the rear axle (also on the right side, but I replaced it completely)
