Wing Mirrors not Heating

Featured Replies

Evening all

My wing mirrors aren't heating so I have swapped them for new ones assuming the elements have burnt but that doesn't seem to have worked.

I am dubious it is the fuse as it is the same as the fuse for adjusting them and that is working fine.

Can anyone shed any further light?

Thanks

Possibly a broken wire in the door loom.

I know the Mk2 are known for this. What's the best way out going around to diagnosing?

Fuse 18 is the fuse for the heated function on the door mirrors

Check it (may be missing/blown)

Wiring harnesses passing through door grommets are a weakness

S/w could be defective

Fuse 11 on this car; but electric windows wouldn't work right if that was blown.

With engine running, if you switch them on at the control, do you hear a click from under the dash, near your right knee?

I believe there are 2 fuses,

11 for adjustment.

18 for heated function

@Fanty111  Did they used to work in the time you have had the car?

No idea about the switch on the door of your car but on Mk2 Fabia vRS the position for the heated mirrors could go to the wrong position, not where the dot was.

Start with the simple and obvious first.

You have the function switched off on the rotary controller for the mirror positions?

I have it was fuse 11 based on this guide I found when searching the fuse box with the code on the covering panel

Yes they have worked in the past. What I have noticed is it points a little further down then the icon on the wheel if that makes sense

  • 1 month later...

I have the drivers side mirror not heating on RHD 2015 MkIII, the passenger side works fine so I suspect a faulty wire, I will take a look when the weather warms up lol
