Rear washer jet disable?

Featured Replies

Anybody know if its possible to disable the rear washer jet?

It's always squirted along with the front jets which was annoying, but know I've removed the rear wiper it's even more so!

Disconnect the pipe near the pump and jam a golf tee up it?

Why does it work with the front jets? Mine doesn't.

Is there an option within the infotainment that enables this? Something in my head is saying yes.

But if not, VCDS surely to deactivate?

I have considered this, just wanted to see if there's a way on disabling the rear washer via coding etc before I have to remove the bumper.....however then I think I can use the excuse of the bumper already being off to fit a honeycomb grille 🤣🤔

1 pump does the front and rear by spinning in opposite directions.

If its coming from both directions the pump is faulty.

The pump cant spin both ways at once so its one of the small valves in the pump that is faulty.

Exactly this ^^

Excellent point. Never thought of that.

New pump ordered, hopefully that solves it.

Thanks

Just to end this thread, in case anyone else has the same issue the new pump solved it.

It's easy to replace, just remove the 17 million t25 screws to take out the arch liner, then unplug the old pump and the 2 washer hoses. Then repeat in reverse.
