VRS Octavia Shock absorber - 1T0413031FN

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

does anyone know if the part number 1T0413031FN has been superceded? (this is the VAG part number on my old part).

I am after replacement front shock absorbers for my 2007 VRS TDi, after a bit of googling a lot of aftermarket suppliers list one of their options to fit numerous O.E part numbers.

Also does anyone have any recommendations on brand/supplier, i.e. Sachs, Bilstein, KYB etc?

Many Thanks

KYB 335808 is listed against 1T0413031FN, 1T0413031HK, 1T0413031HP, and many other OEM part numbers.

Are there any other recommendations of parts that needed/are beneficial while the strut is off?

Does this model run just a rubber top mount or is there a bearing fitted too?

Any idea on part numbers please?

Better still is there available an O.E/Skoda online parts catalogue for Octavia's?

Many Thanks

The plot thickens..... I have been onto a UK parts supplier for some KYB 335808's who asked me for my registration to confirm fitment.

They have come back and said 335808 are incorrect and I actually need 325700 because mine is a VRS with lower sport suspension.

what is the difference in ride height and where is it measured from? ...... Although I feel mine may have sagged over the years anyway so might not get an accurate reading  😐

KYB 325700 is the Ultra SR version, KYB 335808 is the Excel-G version.

The Ultra SR version is about twice the price of the Excel-G version.

Bearing in mind that you've got a 16 year old car, it sounds like the dealer is trying to upsell and make twice the profit.

KYB 325700 and KYB 335808 are both listed against OEM part numbers 1T0413031FN, 1T0413031HK, and 1T0413031HP, so to say that KYB 335808 is not suitable for your car is simply wrong. Probably best to go elsewhere. Excel-G is already OE quality.

Just a quick update.

I emailed KYB (UK) asking if the 2 part numbers were the same physically. Almost immediately I had a reply, with a guy telling me to call him. I called and we had a chat about the 2 part numbers. He was very helpful and it turns out the 335808 is suitable for my car. (The ebay seller didn't have the Ultra SR, so I don't think they were trying to up sell me ......)

I managed to locate 1 locally and fitted it with a new top mount and the knocking (my original problem) has gone.

I am now waiting for the second one (off the internet) to arrive.

Shout out to KYB for their help and super fast response.

Thanks for the above help too.
