Connect App

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I have this Skoda Connect App and I find it quite informative but I see the subscription is up

for renewal ( I bought the car second hand so I have not been involved in the payment side).

I have tried to contact Skoda to ask some question but don't seem to get any answers.

There is about three sections,

Data Plan

Care connect Remote Access,

Infotainment online

and Smart Apps Bundle.

I think I get the first three, but is Data plan something I need ? The next two I will buy but

its more the Smart Apps one that is a puzzle what does it do and I have seen it it for £4.50 for

the year, is that the correct price?

I also notice the word “ Traffication” what is this ?

Is there any one who has these and can give me some explanation ?

Thanks

Is it Skoda Connect LITE?

The data plan is not needed unless you want to use the car as a WiFi hotspot as you drive around (wireless CarPlay still works without a data plan in the car).

Care Connect and Infotainment Online are the main ones for things like map updates, Škoda App connectivity and stuff like that.

The Smart Apps bundle are apps for the infotainment system so, for example the calendar app integrates with the built in satnav.

Traffication improves the reporting of holdups etc from your vehicle thus enhancing the satnav routing.

I tried early versions of calendar and traffication (free trials). Worked ok but painfully slow on my 2020 car. Later models have more powerful hardware and the apps are likely better optimised by now too.

Surely using google maps via Android Auto or Apple Carplay is going to be more reliable for traffic routing than the Skoda satnav?

Quite possibly, though to be fair the Škoda satnav is pretty good in my experience. It has the advantage of not needing a mobile signal to load a map - useful in part of the Lake District and New Forest for example (other 3/4/5G dead spots are available 😂)

I have not seen the world "lite" so I guess no
