To Smartlink or not to Smartlink

Hello        Ive just got a Octavia SE technology, which im super pleased with.  However i think the Infotainment unit might need an upgrade which the  dealer i brought it from isnt able to do so has directed me back to a main Skoda dealership

I cant get Bluetooth to work, so no phone link or ability to use any of the apps other than the radio

My question is - Do i get a Smartlink SD card? and will it work without getting the update/ bluetooth   Or do i have to take the car to Skoda  for a software update in order for anything to work?

Pretty sure all 2019 models would have got both bluetooth and smartlink from factory.

 

If they aren't working, it seems more likely you've got a fault or someone has really messed things up previously.

 

It might be worth adding some pictures to show exactly what you're dealing with along with any errors and ideally the system information showing version numbers etc.

So these are the screen messages that I get when I try any functions.  It would indicate that I need to take it somewhere however I'm not sure if it's something I can do myself online. Or if I pay out for a smart link code, would it work if everything else doesn't want to play
