Cornering lights

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I think the left side cornering light stays on even when driving straight. It goes off when turning or indicating right but immediately lights up again once I've made the turn. Anyone had this issue and if so what's the fix?

This is on a 2019 fl with the separate cornering lights built in to the headlight unit.

For me this works 💪

because on my octavia not worked the fog lights when i turn steering wheel or turn signal

Code:
ENG116948-ENG116105-Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimmwert AB 12 from 100 to 0
ENG116948-ENG116104-Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion B 12 from Abbiegelicht links to not active
ENG116949-ENG116124-Leuchte13NL RB5-Dimmwert AB 13 from 100 to 0
ENG116949-ENG116123-Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion B 13 from Abbiegelicht rechts to not active
ENG116944-ENG116028-Leuchte8FL LB39-Lichtfunktion B 8 from Abbiegelicht links to Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht)
ENG116945-ENG116047-Leuchte9FL RB2-Lichtfunktion B 9 from Abbiegelicht rechts to Standlicht allgemein (Schlusslicht: Positionslicht: Begrenzungslicht)

Then try changing the fog light channels instead:

Code:
ENG116940-ENG115952-Leuchte4TFL LB4-Lichtfunktion B 4 from not active to Abbiegelicht rechts
ENG116941-ENG115971-Leuchte5TFL RB32-Lichtfunktion B 5 from not active to Abbiegelicht links
ENG116938-ENG115914-Leuchte2SL VLB10-Lichtfunktion B 2 from not active to Abbiegelicht rechts
ENG116939-ENG115933-Leuchte3SL VRB21-Lichtfunktion B 3 from not active to Abbiegelicht links

And a few config bits:

Code:
IDE03638-ENG116677-Stationary cornering light-Abdimmgeschwindigkeit from 0.0 %/s to 25 %/s
IDE03638-ENG116676-Stationary cornering lamp-Upper speed threshold from 127.0 km/h to 40.0 km/h
IDE03638-ENG116674-Stationary cornering lamp-Vorschrift from SAE J582 to ECE R119

First look if all its the same

i have octavia rs 2018 full led headlights and fog lights led

Ignore what Marcii is saying, I'm not sure why they are quoting my post from another forum regarding enabling cornering fogs but it certainly won't have any relevance to your issue,

That being said, the behaviour you've described does sound a little odd.

- Is this a new issue?

- Have you had any coding performed?

- Any errors on the dash/infotainment?

- Do you have access to VCDS or similar to perform an autoscan to check for any fault codes etc?

Is the steering wheel straight when you are driving straight?

Could be wheel alignment or a faulty Steering angle sensor.

is there any point in the steering wheels turn that both lamps are off?

This bit confuses me, the missus had a 2019 FL with LED headlights and from what I recall the fog lights were the cornering lights, it wasn't built in to the main headlight. (car has since been sold on so can't verify)

Unless you're talking about the DRLs ? Or maybe someone had a go at coding the DRLs as cornering lights ?

Cornering fogs were an option but the headlights also have a cornering light function.

It's not massively bright or obvious so you've probably missed it 👍

My headlights also have a cornering light function but the problem is that it doesn't make that much light and the range is small

I'm thinking it might be a steering angle issue. Wheel looks straight to the eye but could be slightly off. I've not had chance to test this yet.

Hi guys, can I have the exact procedure for activation of  cornering lights (halogen). I followed the instructions above-mentioned and it end up that the light switch doesn't turn on the FL when I turn left both FL lights up but they don't turn on when I turn right. Anyone able to help?
