Shock absorbers for Rough Roads Package

Featured Replies

Good morning guys,

After reading through a few topics here about the shock absorbers, i couldn't find unfortunately what I was looking for.

My car is a 2017 O3 1.6 TDI and came with RRP, and I wouldn't want to lower it, but I want better shocks. I cannot complain too much about the handling, as it's not a sports car, but the suspension is noisy, too harsh on short bumps. I already started the sound proofing journey, done the boot floor and the front arches. I will continue with rear arches, rear passenger floor, and the doors, but I do not think this will help me with the suspension.

I've noticed everyone is suggesting the Bilstein B6, but on their catalog it's mentioned for standard and sport suspension, not for the one with increased height.

One more thing, I also think that part of the problem might be top mounts instead of shocks, but I am not sure, do you think this could be a problem, or this is mainly shocks.

Thank you! Hope everything is clear and I did not forget something

I advise to finish with sound proofing and then take decision. If properly done, car will be mega-quiet.
Know this when my father sound-proofed old Hyundai i30 - it got more silent than Audi, hehe.

How shock absorbers affects ride height? Maybe we're talking about choices between Std, Sport and Rough Roads (??) absorbers? If such exist...
Interesting, what's in RRP concerning suspension... softer absorbers? HD absorbers? Longer springs? Distancers between springs and upper mounts?
