Outside temperature dash display

Featured Replies

Purely out of interest how low a temperature is displayed on the dash? Mine dropped to 0.5 today and I wondered it if kept going into negative figures  or if it simply stopped at zero. This is probably more for drivers in the north than here in balmy London 😏

It reads the ambient temperature.  Air temperature at the front of the car / grill height or at wing mirror height car dependent.

That is not the Ground / Grass Frost temperature as shown on the weather sometimes with the air temp.

That is at ground / surface temp and the Grass Frost temp can be several degrees colder than the air temperature.

My vehicles have all displayed negative Celcius temperatures.

Mine have displayed well into minus figs, pos double digits.  Unfortunately no pics of temp so didn’t happen!  Will just have to make do with a couple of indicative pics.

And it’s looking similar for the next week or so.  Will take pics of temp gauge of course. 👍

Happy days, out playing in the snow before the local plough ruined the fun.

No pics but I've seen them go to -20C.

Deffo don’t want to see those numbers next week, not with the current prices of heating oil!

Down to only -5 deg C today in Aberdeenshire, around 2pm 🥶

Here in the balmy south mine dropped to minus 1 today so clearly that goes some way to answering my initial question.

Strathy reported -15c this morning near Carrbridge, just down the road from me

My -20 was in Invergarry, and cold enough that 50/50 screenwash froze.
