Immobiliser key programming for my octavia

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if there is anything up to date  (22-23) on the cost of getting my immobiliser reprogrammed  please . Car was stolen , driven. 520 klms . In the back of car in no place obvious, was a Faraday folder with a spare key  as I had nowhere safe in my house to put it. So here is a car that I have bought  7 months ago  and my key was accessed, but first they had to get into the car .I left the car at 9.42pm and they stole it at 9.56pm according to the street cameras . Apparently the alarm  didn’t go off  So how can this be disabled  from outside ?How do you check  that the alarm works ? And to my thinking, if the car is alarmed from the outside how can the car be started and not instead immobilised ?

If anyone has any info they want to put into this post I would appreciate it please .

Thankyou for your time.

Your profile says you have a 2021 Octavia but this is the mk1 section (98-2005 ish). If you do have a 2021 Octavia I think that would probably make it a mk4 which is in this section:

https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/396-skoda-octavia-mk-iv-2020/

As for testing the alarm - my initial suggestion would be to leave windows open and lock the car, but that might not work on some cars.

Edit: I see you have already posted in the mk4 section before - I suggest having a search in that section or starting a new thread if you can't find an answer.
