Override ACC

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone know if you can override the ACC when it thinks the road ahead is somehow too bendy (when it isn't at all)or it thinks you're going on an off ramp? I've tried pressing the right wheel button, holding the accelerator while doing it.

I think I just accelerate in those circumstances........?

That doesn't override it. As soon as you let go it starts again

I don't know then - I thought accelerating for a little way was what I do - not easy to check as it only happens occasionally - I find the whole ACC thing a little unrefined, I appreciate the way it slows you down appropriately when entering lower speed limits but hate the way it sets off with great urgency when you leave a lower limit - if I go into a 30mph area with 45mph set I want to go back up to 45mph as I exit but as soon as the 60mph sign is recognised we are off, on our way to 60 in double quick time - why can't the system remember my set speed?

That you can turn off and I turned that **** right off, I manually adjust the speed lol.

ACC is nice for heavy traffic and long journeys

I was looking yesterday in my car to be able to disable the automatic cruise control speed adjustment but I couldn't find anything in the "Assistance Systems", "All Assistance Systems" or "dynamic road sign recognition" menus.

This system is a nice idea, but without serious improvements it cannot differentiate between signs on the off-ramps, adjacent roads & due to its reliance on map data (which is years behind reality) it can sometimes set a speed which is actually above the real limit.

Do I have to disabled Road Sign recognition to deactivate the cruise control speed adjustment ??

Id like to keep the speed sign recognition & warning displays in the navigation & virtual cockpit but without it changing my cruise control speed automatically.

You need to go to ACC and disabled speed limit preview

Ah great I'll try it this morning.

It's not very well named in the menu, "Automatic Roadsign Speed Adjustment" would be better.

Can confirm "Speed Limit Preview" disables the ACC speed changes based on traffic signs.

It's a shame this doesn't work well because the idea is good, it's just not good enough to detect all signs correctly.

Would also perhaps be better if you could configure a delay before the speed change so you have chance to react to the warning before it starts braking on the highway...
