2022 SKODA KAMIQ START/STOP Failure on Hill Starts

Featured Replies

Has anyone experienced the failure of the Engine to Start, while on a hill start - auto engine, and complete lack of control.  API didn't fix the issue and wanting to gauge how many others affected by this fault

Can't help as I always turn my stop/start off

The automatic start/stop usually only works for me when in town and I've never experienced it on a hill.  I would have thought the immediate solution if the auto stop/start didn't start would be foot on brake and into P, ignition off and then with foot still on brake, restart.

If this doesn't work, then handbrake on, into P, ignition off and then restart might do it.

As to the cause, well.......

My first stop start Yeti (being unfamiliar with stop start) I used to stall because the revs stayed too low to pull away safely.

Increasing the revs manually solved the initial problem.

Yep, like any car a driver needs to adjust to it. Bite point on my daughters car is way higher than on our Karoq so I adjust to it. I would stall it if I treated it like mine.
