Dealing with skoda post purchase.

Featured Replies

I've had to email Skoda re some issues I'm having with the moon roof, sunshade and front internal lights where they freeze randomly and stop functioning for about 20 minutes this has happened so many times. I emailed them about 2 days ago re the issue but they haven't gotten back to me. I was wondering how long does it take for them to respond and what should I expect. Apologies if this topic is vague, it's just my first time having to deal with them and also as a new car under warranty. Any advise tips will help.

On my last car which was a nightmare (an RS), I resorted to calling the customer service department directly and occasionally emailing as well.

I found that it worked quite well as you got a confirmation email from them regarding your conversation and and if they tried to deny it you had a email record of it.

Hi,  thanks for sharing your experience and advice, i did get a confirmation email just was wondering how long I needed to wait. I was thinking of calling them. I think i may call customer service department if i don't get a response soon.

@LuxoviaRSIs it Skoda Australia the importer you are e-mailing or some Skoda Main Dealership / Authorised Repairer?

Start with a phone call, I find its the best route.

Ok thanks for the reply.  I probably should have done that first,  I guess I just wanted to have something in writing.

Read your warranty T&C,s.

Is it not an authorised repairer that you need to contact about warranty repairs?

I'll have a look at it.  Yes I guess you're right.

I'd suggest just fronting up to the dealer, they are the authorised warranty repairer. Once your concern is logged you have a path to follow. If you do get a response from Skoda they'll likely refer you to the dealer anyway. If you have no joy getting a satisfactory resolution from the dealer, then approach Skoda direct. Keep a detailed log (dates, times, names etc) of all your interactions.

I'll call the dealer when I get the time I think that's the best solution. I just saw that email and a number and thought that was the best way but I just read in the warranty t&c as mentioned above from Rooted and yes that is the correct way.

An update. So I've scheduled an appointment with the skoda service centre for them to have a look at the problem. This should be covered under warranty.
