EGR intermittent Electrical fault code

Featured Replies

Hi!

On one fine morning, with lots of uncleaned snow and mud in my parking spot, i had to rev my engine in reverse at about 3000-4000 rpm (in -5C degrees and totally cold engine mind you) to get out and on the road.

Next i know that in 8 minutes, after starting moving from behind a traffic light, my engine glow plug started flashing and car went into limp mode.

I continued my journey to work. After work i started journey home, where again my engine glow plug light started flashing and car went into limp mode.

After letting the car rest for a day. I took it out to diagnostics. The same exact route as my work one. No error codes this time. Even tried revving it up to 2500rpm to get a reaction (this time the engine was nice and warm).

Nothing. Diagnostics dude connected the cables and said i have an EGR Electrical Fault code, i did not get the exact code, but that's what he said.

After driving home and to work again today, i haven't had it pop up again though.

Could it just be a fluke or is there anything i can do, to prevent the eventual EGR failure from happening?

TIA.
