Looking to mod my 1.2 TSI estate a bit and was wondering what cosmetic mods are nice on it!?

If you're planning a remap I'd leave the cosmetics alone and focus on handling mods.

Yeah more thinking down the line, the main focus is the remap, not sure what mods would be useful for the stage 1 as you said it should be good on stock components?

A RARB never hurts 👍

Where can I pick one up for my specific car? And wouldn’t it be better to do engine mods over handling mods for the remap or no?

What engine mods? Look, all I'm saying from experience is if you want more bhp then the best accompanying handling mod is a RARB.

Try these guys. This may not be the right one for yours but they should be able to help further.

If it's Christmas I'd also ask Santa for this

No. Handling mods let you use whatever power you have more. With box stock used suspension, any extra power will be swallowed up in extra body roll and/or wheel skip.

Mine is remapped to 138. Well worth it. Along with numerous other modifications.

That’s really nice, will 130hp be okay on stock components?

Perfectly fine

My wife's 2015 90 hatch factory suspension isn't great and not very long lasting and it very, very rarely gets anything close to spirited driving.

Very unpopular view I know but best tuning is driver training, and it's transferable to other cars (and I've had a very little and still am not a good driver), then timely full servicing, maintenance and repairs and good quality appropriate tyres.

Cosmetics is just personal taste and fashion (like the oversized wheels and tyres from the factory let alone upsized later) for fashion remember the three spoke alloy wheels.

Put on whatever cosmetics please you, probably best if they're legal, and if you later want to sell the car if they'll be appreciated by those you want to sell to, or accept you've had the enjoyment of them and suck up any loss from them (or perhaps you might gain if you chose to suit the sales potential).

Just having a fully cleaned and polished car, fully inside and out, usually looks very good and perhaps good contrasting colours (currently fashionable or not).

Don't spend all your money and have none left for timely full servicing, maintenance and repairs, German engineering quality ain't what it used be last century, or Mk1 Fabia or Mk2 Fabia from what I've read here.

Mostly, enjoy your car the way you want. 👍

Yes, and I really wish I didn't!

I’ve lowered mine 40mm on rear with springs and lowering dampers and coil overs on front 30mm, front splitter rear diffuser roof spoiler de badged, had a good spec from factory with sunset glass and 17” clubber alloys, also removed the center silencer remapped to around 140 hp had an mst induction kit fitted but removed it hot fed up with noise!

What springs do u use? And what was your method of debadging?

I started with direnza springs and standard dampers but found the front too hard so I bought some front coilovers and kept the rear direnza -40mm springs and bought some stance lowering shocks. Sits just how I want it handles spot on and decent ride quality.

as for de badging warmed them up with heat gun tar and glue remover on sticky left behind then buffed where they had been

How would you recommend a method for debadging for someone who doesn’t own any buffer stuff and what not?

Heating them up is main thing you can use a hair dryer if you don’t have a heat gun, not too hot just enough to soften glue, they should pull off but you can use dental floss or fishing line to get them off
