Bcm swap

Featured Replies

Hii!
i have got a LHD Nov’ 13 Octavia mk3.
I want to do a bcm swap. i think my actual bcm is medium and I want to swap ir for a high to install heated seates and foldable mirrors.
i dont know if is possible and how difficult can be. I only know that its needed to remove component proteccion but I know two persons to do that.
 in advance

Do you have a VIN number and ill find you the high BCM part number.

The steps are done with ODIS and you need to run the replacement module routine - this will code, adapt and remove component protection.

The BCM also controls central locking so the immo routine will need to be ran to reassign the keys to the new BCM.

I dont have ODIS, but I know two person that the have.

The routine you say does a backup of my original BCM?

I think that the two keys I have can be configured with the new immo codes, right?

The high module for your car is 5Q0937084AE which has since superseeded to 5Q0937084AJ

It wont backup your original BCM, it will pull factory coding from the VW servers and make the necessary changes to make the new BCM work just fine for a factory car. Any previous changes will then manually have to be made again.

The 2 current keys must both be present and recoded to the new BCM yes.

You’ll have to phone up suppliers in your country including Skoda or look at possible second hand.

A price in the U.K. may not reflect the Spanish prices at all

@ApertureS

Hello! I saw you were able to find the exact BCM part number from VIN number.

I would like to buy a used BCM online and take it to a car electric workshop so they can immediately replace the unit if needed. They said they can reprogram it and match with the keys but they cannot buy it for me or repair the existing one.

The problems started a few years ago when the wireless locking stopped working and the key opens the door only mechanically. Only when the ignition is on, the central locking starts working on the button press. The small display is dim though. Then if I exit the car, I can centrally lock and unlock the car using the key in the door lock, but only for a few minutes. Then it goes to a deep sleep again and only mechanical lock works. The local Škoda dealer workshop told me that the BCM needs to be replaced, I was reluctant to have it repaired because it was so expensive. But recently my family members reported occasional problems with engine stop 2 seconds after ignition and that looks like it stops recognizing the key, so it made it more urgent to me. The official Škoda dealer would charge 755€ fro the BCM unit, so I'm looking for other options.

Could you please tell me which BCM part number is in my car? The VIN is TMBJG7NE9F0233865. Thanks!

The car model is Škoda Octavia Mk3 (5E) 1.6 TDI 77 kW estate. The equipment level is "Style" - quite low level (Bolero, no heated seats).

I've looked up on the eBay and found units from Continental, Hella and Bosch.

Some part numbers I found:

5Q0937084AQ

5Q0937086BP

1K0937084H

Can I use a different part number from the original? Which part numbers are interchangeable (compatible)?

Partslink24 says that your VIN should have 5Q0937084AG, which has been superseded by 5Q0937084AJ Z00

I don't know enough to tell you anything more.

@Breezy_Pete Thank you so much for the fast reply! I'll try to order one of these.
