Usb outage and android auto disconnect

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a kodiaq bought in 2018.

When i use one of the twin usb ports here with my phone (or any phone) ,268724046_tlchargement.jpeg-1.jpg.8dcfbffa77f2261a4e1bd999119cfabf.jpg

I randomly loose connection with my phone (samsung galaxy) and realize that there is no more power on both USB ports (no more charging icon). When it happens, i change cable or try with other phone, and same result, no power, no connections to amundsen...

Sometimes during the trip, the power come back and i must restart the connection with the phone but very often the power remains cut.

Consequently, impossible to use waze through android auto because no more connectivity with the Amundsen.

Do you have an idea of what happens?

Did you have already encountered this issue?

I had the same story. I even had the USB sockets changed under the warranty, but nothing changed.

I finally bought some expensive cable, which worked more or less, as did the Samsung original cable, unless you didn`t touch or move the USB plug. The connection must be very stiff.

Finally I bought Android Auto wireless dongle, which works flawlessly.

@linni so disappointed to see that the problem is occuring for other users.

Can you just tell me what kind of dongle you bought?

Any ref?

Many thanks !

@pvodozI bought AAwireless, as that was the only one back then couple of years ago to provide wireless Android Auto.

Today there are several options available, for example Ottocast, which also enables Netflix and Youtube.

For charging I use cigarette lighter socket with quick charge dongle. Sometimes car`s QI carge pad, but that that way the phone tends to overheat.
