Front ARB replacement - uprated Subframe bolts

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

In the quest to get rid of a knocking noise on the front of my VRS estate I am looking at replacing the ARB bushes.

I have read up on it a while ago and seem to remember coming across a thread saying that replacing the subframe bolts with uprated ones is the way forward, has anyone done this? (or was I just dreaming?)

Also any tips other than the general threads about it on here, would be much appreciated.

I shall be borrowing a ramp so hopefully it should make things easier.

TIA

If you've ruled out drop links being faulty, then the most likely fault is the strut top mounts rather than the ARB bushes.

Hi, I have replaced both the anti roll bar links (Febi) and both the strut top mounts (KYB) while replacing the shock absorbers.

If you're dropping the subframe, dab some paint about to give you something to line it back up to.
