Spare wheel and Variable boot floor

Featured Replies

2 years back we got a replacement 2nd hand Octavia estate 2014 after an insurance write-off. Discovered somewhere on the M1 that whoever spec'ed the car didn't opt for a spare wheel. Really wish I'd thought at the time but I really want to fix that. Not happy with gunk and compressor.

We have an estate with the variable boot floor. Does that limit us to space saver spares or can I fit a full size spare? I figure a scrap yard might have a spare for us if it'll fit. The tool kit seems easy to find.

There is so much I wish I'd taken from the old car before the insurance took it away.

I have a full size wheel ( from a scrap yard) under a variable floor, not a problem with my 2019 octavia estate. Didn't fancy a space saver wheel when towing a caravan.

Yes I fitted a full size spare in my Scout estate for the same reason as above.

The only thing I did to make it easier to get it in and out was, there's a plastic lip at the back of the wheel well, I cut this back were the tyre touched.
