Replacing Exhaust Gas Relay (EGR) Valve

Hello everyone, I recently bought a 2011 Skoda yeto 4x4 (2.0L 180 BHP). Very happy with the car so far, however, of late, the motor light has been lighting up intermittently. The garage says its the Exhaust Relay Gas Valve which will need replacing. Can anyone tell me if this can be done without first removing the 4x4 unit i.e. can the EGR valve be accessed from the top-down? Many thanks in advance. Lil
