Apple car play not connecting

Featured Replies

H

I recently purchased a 2nd hand 2016 Fabia.  The previous owner was using CarPlay, was working during demo drive etc.

But it will not connect with my iPhone 14,  The bluetooth works fine, Ic an listen to my music/podcasts and make phone call all using bluetooth.

But when I look att he connection type, CarPlay is greyed out and in another section I can only select mirror or android.

I have gone through all the apple suggestions for CarPlay , trued a different cable.  I can't us my apple cable as it usb-c connection. (read that on other posts) I can't use the suggested voice option, as when I click the voice button in the car it says it not available.

Any suggestions welcome?

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I have rung a Skoda dealer and waiting for a call back.

High quality cable between USB port in the car and your iPhone. Siri turned on (it's a must - might require restarting iPhone after turning on).

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

HI there. I’m having what sounds like the same problem, except that it’s an iPhone 13.

Did you get this fixed? I can no longer connect since I bought my new phone. Apple CarPlay seems to be greyed out in various places when I look through car settings. I now wonder whether I need an adapter.

Yes, an Apple branded cable from the apple store fixed the issue.

Every now and again I get I repeating disconnect message.  But if I delete the car from CarPlay on my phone and then reconnect it seems to fix that issue.  But that has been a recent development.
