Wind deflectors

Featured Replies

Any one got/tried/had those wind deflectors that allow you to have the front windows open a couple of inches without letting the rain in? Are they easy to fit? Having aircon on all day on damp days really affects fuel consumption ( to as low as 37 mpg )when having a window slightly open would suffice.

Also try www.jhmbuttco.com

They seem to be very good for Skoda parts and accessories.

I suppose you really need some that just clip into the window channels, to avoid drilling etc.

Lots of cars seem to have these fitted on the continent, but they aren't so popular here. Maybe its just too cold most of the time :1:

Had them fitted to my VW1300 back in the late 1960s then they went out of fashion. However they seem to be back in use on some of the cheaper 4X4s, eg Musso. They are OK for town driving but are noisy at higher speeds.

Had them on my previous Mitsubishi and they were excellent. Having said that they were the type that were flush with the outside of the door (rather than standing proud) so were quiet. They were also smoked plastic and matched in really well. Where yuo would find them though I have no idea!

If anyone is interested in the wind deflectors, then I could arrange a group buy on Climair product, as the guy that works for us in Germany is also a representative/distributor for them.

I can get them for a good price, there is no minimum buy qty, but as they would be shipped from Germany, the carriage cost would be about 30-40 Euro, so it would make sense to buy 5-10 qty to reduce the individual carriage cost.

Climair make deflectors for front and rear windows and also for sunroofs.

I now have a catalogue which I can scan the relevant pages if anyone wants to see them.

Des,

You might fancy these for when you are cruising around Chatham as you are likely to be mistaken for a taxi?
