Fabia mk2 engine swap

Featured Replies

Hello all I’m new to the community so please bare with me.

I have a Octavia mk2 2008 that has a 2.0 TDI PD 140bhp engine I would like to take the engine out and put it in my fabia which is a 2008 mk2 1.4 TDI PD model.

the reason for this is the Octavia is a write off the engine is still fine so I’m going to strip the car sell what I don’t need for parts and the engine I was hoping to save.

question I’m asking is it even possible to fit the engine and gear box and whatever else I would need to consider from the Octavia to the fabia?

The Octavia is the estate and the Fabia is a hatchback.

In a word, no.

I assume it's a 2.0 BKD type PD engine fitted with a DPF, completely different electronics  I'm afraid.

The 2.0 is non DPF 2.0 8V TDI PD

The 1.4 is DPF 1.4 8V TDI PD

The 8V BMM engine has a DPF.

The 16V BKD and AZV do not.

None of them will fit and the coding to make the electronics work would be nigh on impossible.

Ok thankyou for your help I won’t bother then I will just strip the car down and sell off for parts. Shame the 2.0 engine has only done 108k.

To much difference drive shafts gearbox  engine mounts exhaust ECU unit 4 cyclinder won't work a 3 cylinder fuel pump etc then to top it all you will have to tell the insurance and they might not insure the car due to the modification
