My name is Jens and I've recently bought my very first car, the Fabia III Clever edition (2018). It has the Amundsen infotainment system as far as I know, but I am wondering if this has android auto. I don't have the car yet (will pick up next week), so I can't check it in software, but I was wondering.

Since I am quite tech savvy so updating stuff isn't a problem.

 

I see some people asking for update files by using their VIN (which I do already have access to). I also saw alot of people ''hacking'' their software to get Android Auto support. Is this nessecairy? Or do I have to update the software to get Android Auto? Oooor do I need to buy a completely new unit?

Indeed, you have Amundsen 5Q0035874C. It has an option 9WT onboard which means SMartLink (Android AUto, APple CarPlay, MIrrorLink) are enabled. It also has USB part number 5Q0035726E which supports Apple CarPlay.
