Monte Carlo 1.0 110

Featured Replies

Just bought an 8month old Fabia Monte Carlo 1.0

I'm a bit puzzled with it !

I'm finding it a bit dead , takes ages to get it to respond to my foot on the gas. 1st gear , foot down and a lull , then it jerks into action, not great if your trying to nip in on a busy road.

Any tips or your own experience greatly received , thanks.

I have the same car and same age as your one. Purchased new in May of last year, not driven as much as I would like, but no problem like you seem to have. My only issue is the very poor maximum volume on head unit, really very poor.

Did you buy from a dealer with warranty? Or buy from a private seller?

Anyway, looks like the car has a problem that previous owner must have known about, and not been fixed prior to its sale to you.

I had a Citroen Xsara VTS many moons ago with similar problem, was throttle position sensor (TPS) that was faulty.

Bought from a dealer, still 2 years warranty,  I've spoke to them already, will call in there again..

Our 2023 Monte Carlo is the 1.0 TSI 110bhp with manual gearbox and it seems very responsive.  Mind you our last car was over 20 years old and a diesel.  Maybe we should have gone with the automatic gearbox option but in general it's a great car to drive.  Fuel economy is disappointing but we are doing short journeys.

Fuel is the same on mine , not a lot to the gallon compared to my 67 plate fabia 95ps. Great economic car.

Regarding the 1st gear problems, it's been in for a service and the found nothing wrong , said they've reconfigured the gear box , if that's true !!
