How to disable TSR

Featured Replies

Hello,

I purchased Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) on demand function from the Skoda app store.

I don't like how it works, it gives incorrect speed information frequently (probably because I don't have navigation).

I want to disable it from the assistant menu in the infotainment as it says in the car's manual, but the option is not there.

I also tried to disable it from the store as it is a function on demand, but no luck there neither.

Any suggestions?

Part of the speed limits is in fact taken from sat-nav. And you do have it, to some extent. I am not sure about Swing, but i know Bolero has sat-nav built in and it has maps in the memory, it's just navigtion function is hidden from user until you buy this function from the store.

You could try updating maps using USB stick (google on how to do that) and check if it improves TSR.

You already spent money on TSR, so maybe try to make it usable before you disable it? :)

I have Bolero. I knew my car already has a map database installed, because I can see the version number in the infotainment, but I thought that TSR only used it after purchasing the navigation function.

I will follow the tutorial to update the map database and check if TSR works better. Thank you @Felix2021!

Anyway I still would like to know if there is a button to disable TSR that I'm missing, because I'm afraid that the option is only there for cars that came with TSR from factory.

It's likely your ADAS camera has an update outstanding. Also worth making sure your infotainment software & navigation data are up to date

No, it's not. Well, i'm not 100% sure about TSR, but my educated guess would be that it uses navigation data same way as matrix headlights are using it.

In matrix hedlights it's used to identify highways etc. where based on sat-nav data system is switching off high beam for inside part of the road. This is done not to dazzle mostly trucks going other direction, as their lights are blocked by the barriers between the lanes, hence camera cannot see them and would otherwise not cut them from the beam.

Using same sat-nav data to get speed limits for TSR would be a very natural thing to do, since this data is there anyway.

That i don't know and cannot check, sorry. I have TSR from factory.

Great info! Thanks @Felix2021. So in your case the option to disable TSR appears in the infotainment right?

I will update everything mentioned and check how it works. Thanks @East_Yorkshire_Retrofits
