Yesterday I finally bought the replacement for my Elegance. I've had it since 2014 and other than a failed EGR unit just after I bought it that was replaced under the approved used warranty and a broken rear spring a few years ago it's not given me any aggro at all and has been a great car to own. I travelled down to the South Coast yesterday and put the deposit down on an Approved Used January 2022 petrol Octavia vRS hatch in Race Blue which I'll be going down to collect in a couple of weeks.

 

So I'll be giving the Superb a final clean and tidy out ready to sell it on in the coming weeks.

Congratulations! The Octavia looks very cool.

 

Quick question: How does it feel to change from the bigger Superb to the Octavia? Particularly in the interior space, trunk.

 

For me, as I often carry the kids, actually teens, in the back, I think they really like the extra leg room. But I am sure the vRS is a lot of fun to drive. Tradeoffs!

A little less leg room in the back seats but there's rarely ever more than my son in the back. Boot wise it's not too different obviously a little smaller but not too much IMO.

The Superb went to a trader in Birmingham at the beginning of last week after sitting on the drive for a good few weeks..... Sods law one of the rear wheel bearings chucked in the towel whilst it was stood for so long so ended up haggling over the agreed price and getting a bit less than originally thought. Anyway.... Looking at it's details on DVLA today it's now taxed again and has had a new logbook issued so they look to have sold it to someone pretty much straight away. 

 

So it's moved to it's third home somewhere in the Birmingham / West Midlands area.   (Reg is back to it's normal OW60GKG).
