Could Jabba confuse the computer?

Featured Replies

Just wondering.

My general pootling mpg has (according to my computer) dropped by around 25% I reckon. I got 45mpg coming to work yesterday morning, 75mph gentle drive (downhill) and then got 36mpg on the way back to altitude.

Normally I got 60mpg on the way to work, and 50mpg on the way home.

I've yet to do the true test of tanking right up and seeing how far it gets me, but I was wondering if I should take what my computer is telling me with a pinch of salt. I realise the average speed, trip & journey time should be fine, but it seems the 2 mpg settings are possibly way out!

Nah, I

I can't deny I'm enjoying the power. :D

But after tanking up (not brim full - about 7/8) at Bridgwater, I'd say I've done around 200 miles (including four 0-60 tests mind) and already I'm having to think about filling up again in say a couple of days.

I could be panicking over nothing here, and if the economy has dropped by say 10%, then I'm not too fussed given the power output now. :D

Jason,

alos don't forgot you've got new stickier tyres. The increase in rolling reisistance can make may be 3% difference in mpg. Not alot in isolation but they all add up.

My fuel consumption is a lot worse post Jabba. Yes, I'm enjoying it plus I have new Pirelli Pzero Rossos. Have Elton check it out when I go up tomorrow.

Used to easily get 40mpg on a motorway run but have to really restrain myself and stick to 70-75mph all the way to get anywhere near it.

Cheers.

Adrian.
