Greetings from the South of France

Hello and bonjour all!

A few weeks ago I sold my 2Cv to get a van, but decided to get an interim car to last me a couple of years before I do that. Sat in the back of a car sales place (in Beziers if you're interested) was a sad looking 1999 Octavia estate with towbar. Not prepped, no MOT (CT here) but clean and tidy, and good service history. I found the issue with reverse gear online, so that wasn't scary, just a couple of electrical issues to deal with. At the price I paid I can get a bit of work done on it so hopefully I'll be on the forum for a while to come!

Tchin!

Welcome to Briskoda. Good choice of car.

Spent a very happy summer near Beziers a long time ago, teaching windsurfing on the beach. :emoticon-0157-sun:

LoL probably even more years ago than you I was on a PGL holiday there!

Hello Milo :hi:

I had a 1999 110TDI VW Passat estate, so very similar, which I passed on to a friend.  I wish I could go back to 2011, give myself a clip around the ear, tell my younger(ish) self to not be a dimwit and to hang on to what was a bloody good car! 🙄

My Son did a stint with PGL, here in the UK.  It didn't last very long.  Being enthusiastic, and then sustaining it, wasn't his strongest trait. C'est la vie.

A few years after my holiday in the South of France I worked for them in North Wales. Quite bizarre but I suppose good experience!

A few years ago I had a Skoda superb saloon with the 1.9 TDI 130. It was a fabulous car until the engine management started playing up after filling up with opaque diesel. It went to the breakers after 400,000 kilometers.
