What to include in the upcoming service?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have just bought my first used Skoda Superb in Jan 2024, and I love it! It's 7 years old 2017 Mk3, SUPERB SE L EXECUTIVE TSI S-A, 1.4, with 41K Miles on it. Feels like new!

The last time it was serviced was 4K miles ago in May 2023, and now the display in the car says an inspection and oil change is due in 1 month. I have the full service history of the car which I'll include below - may I ask what should I include in the upcoming Service? is it just an Oil Change? Car itself shows no error as far as I know. Also - is it ok to go to an independent garage, and would it be cheaper than doing the service with Skoda? I live in South London. How much can I expect an annual service to cost at an independent garage vs at Skoda?

Please let me know your thoughts - Full service History below:

  • May 2024 - 41K - What should I ask for this time? especially if I do it at an independent garage?
  • May 2023 - 37K - Inspection with Oil change + Dust and pollen filter + Spark Plug + Air Cleaner element.
  • May 2022 - 31K - Oil change service + Break fluid Service.
  • May 2021 - 24K - Inspection with Oil Change + Dust and pollen filter + Spark Plug + Air Cleaner element.
  • May 2020 - 16K - Oil change service + Break fluid Service.
  • Oct 2019 - 13K - Oil change service.
  • May 2019 - 10K - Inspection with Oil change  + dust pollen filter.
  • May 2018 - 3K - Oil change service.
  • May 2017 - 0K - new car delivered.

Hi, Thanks for the help! How do I know the exact DSG version of my gearbox? could it be the DQ200 that does not require maintenance?

The car model is a 2017 1.4 TSI ACT SE L Executive, automatic, 2x4, hatchback, 148 BHP

No Oil & Filter change due at 40,000 or 80,000 or anytime with the DQ200 DSG.

Which is what it has, a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG.

& the Cambelt change at 5 years, 50,000 miles has been dropped by VW Group / Skoda UK.

It ain't a DQ200. AFAIK, DQ200 has never equipped Superb Mk3. DSG7 are actually DQ380 (or DQ381 if a 4x4 version) on Mk3. Their oil must be changed at 80000 miles instead of 40000 for most other DSGs.

Additionally, I think it could be time to change your air and fuel filters. 🤔

The OP says the Air Filter element was changed last year.

(The first spark plug change i understand, the 2nd set so soon might be questionable.)

Were DQ381 7 speed wet clutch fitted in 2017?

DQ200,s were on 1.6TDI,s were / are they not?

It is a 1.4 TSI FWD with 148 bhp / 150ps and no more than 250 Nm.

They did use a DQ381 on a Kodiaq 1.4 TSI ACT, but it has Haldex.

(DQ380,s for China.)

Thanks all for all the help! Is there any way to know for certain the DQ version of my gearbox? Some indication/sticker within the car?
