Where to apply Mr Muscle?

Featured Replies

Guys, I've been experiencing a loss of power going uphill. Based on the symptoms and the mileage of my car I'm sure I need to clean the egr/turbo.

I've seen plenty of videos but haven't come across any of my car (Skoda MK2 1.6 TDI)

I think I should apply it where I pointed in the picture, the deeper the better

If so, it seems like the only tool I'll need is some pliers and that's it right?

Thank you!

That's the air intake you need to clean the exhaust side of the turbo, that's the part that can get gummed up, someone may come up with a simpler method but what I did was unscrewed the oxygen sensor  on top of the DPF, used a piece of brake pipe bent it towards the turbo and used the nozzle from the Mr. muscle to get it into the turbo, left it half an hour put the sensor back and started the engine, seemed to work that won't clean the EGR.

Don’t do it, the DPF will not like it.

Didn't seem to harm my DPF. Anyway another thing you could try is carbon cleaning, that is done from the air intake it was quite a big thing not so long back, check around your local garages see if any of them do that.

hi did you resolve your turbo problem, i've been told mine is blocked or not working but i had dpf fault code come up. had it regen but get the coil light back on after the engine gets hot. i took the actuator off and the part of the turbo moved freely. i've ordered some cleaner to put in fuel tank achoil to see if that helps. i also struggled to find a quick way of getting mr muscle in with out stripping stuff down
