Removing the badges on the back hatch - possible?

Featured Replies

I have my Scala with all that S K O D A and SCALA lettering which I want to remove for a cleaner, more inconspicuous look.

I know that heating the area, breaking the glue with dental floss or fishing wire works, then rubbing the glue with some tar remover/glue remover will do. Mostly. I don't know that after 1 year the paint will show marks under the letters.

But what I need to know if someone has done this or repaired/saw the hatch door, does the letters have only glue, or is the metal drilled and the letters have pins that go through it like in other cars?

I don't want to go with all this process just to take them off and see that I'm left with holes from the letters in the door. :)

Letters are just taped on so no worries. I have done that on my previous car (Peugeot) after 10 years and there were no marks behind the letters. I used a hairdryer instead heatgun as I didnt want the surface to get too warm and make some damage on the paint. However I like the huge S K O D A on the tail, I would rather swap to black ones instead removing them. Mine is a moon white metallic.
