Hi,

 

I've noticed a rattling noise while driving the Karoq.

 

I finally had a good look underneath today. The under tray directly between the front wheels appears to be missing two bolts/clips leaving the under tray to flap around at the edges and rattle when driving.

 

It had a service late last year at Kwik Fit and I suspect, doing an oil change or such, they have taken off the under tray and put it back on sans a couple of bolts/clips.

 

I don't drive the car on a regular basis hence why it has only been detected recently.

 

I have highlighted the place in question on the first image (same thing is actually missing on both sides) and in the subsequent images have shown the hole where the bolt/clip should be.

 

I am wondering if anyone can help identify the bolts/clips i need to secure the under tray again?

A common failing with modern cars. There are so many diffent types of plastic fixings that  its probably quicker to ask at your local Skoda VW dealer they will know the exact type.

Exactly.

They should be in their Parts Department considering they are a Skoda Main Dealer and service Skoda day in and day out.

They should be asking customers that put in cars with fixtures missing if they want new ones on the car.  (But then this is the real world.)

Does the under tray have any other fasteners (I assume they're not all missing)?

Take one out and see if it fits where the missing one is - then you'll know what it looks like.

The two that are missing seem to be unique among the others. They are towards the back edges of the under tray between the wheels. As shown in the images they have a distinctive bar type inset across the hole.

 

I think after a process of trial and error that this is a "spreader rivet" fixture. Number 5 on this diagram.
