Featured Replies

Price from local garage to fit new blower resistor pack on my skoda rapid 2013 , its situated behind the glove box which needs removing , how much on average would this cost to replace and how long roughly.  Any advice please

Blower resistor packs are available on ebay from £8 upwards a genuine Skoda one would be around £80

Pretty simple for a DIY capable person to do it at home if they have some basic tools.

Garage rates for labour vary considerably

You give no clue to your quoted price or whether the quote was for genuine parts fitted or aftermarket parts.

Shouldn't take longer than an hour.

All depends on if you think you could do it or how much you value your own time.

Thanks for the reply , the local garage i use priced to supply part and labour all in with vat £85 , is this reasonable , ive watched how to replace on you tube but not confident of doing myself

It's not overly expensive, once you have paid it someone will tell you it could have been done cheaper. That happens when you buy anything.

At that price i doubt it''s the Skoda supplied part but it probably won't be the £8 ones on ebay. It will be from his preferred motor factors supplier.

The garage has probably allowed £20 for the part and £50 for Labour plus vat.
