Kamiq 2019 S23 Ultra android auto issues

Featured Replies

Hi there, I just bought my kamiq, it's 2019 model with the bolero display, I used my phone (samsung s23 ultra) for android auto but it keeps disconnecting in a few seconds if not immediately. I don't have technical expertise or any tools. Can you help me ?

Are you connecting with a cable? If so it is important that the cable is from a reputable manufacturer. I've has issues connecting my phone twice now, and in both ases it was a cheap cable causing the issue.

I'm using the original samsung cable from my phone's box. I think should do the job. I'll try to get another one. So far from what I've read maybe it's my bolero version that isn't supporting the android 13+ android auto devices...

It's known problem.

Unfortunately there is no fix for MY2019 and MY2020

Newer models received updated firmware for Bolero (see topic in Scala's forum

I mailed Skoda support - they replied yesterday that they know the problem but for MY2019/2020 they do not plan to do anything with it.

The only solution looks to be 'hacky' forced update to SW1800. I also heard that Android Auto wireless dongles are not affected so it is also worth giving  a try.

Thank you very much! I already ordered the carlink 5.0 air2 and I'm going to give it a try.

As an update for future and old owners:

Because skoda has not yet released update for 2020 and 2019 models to support bolero with version 0469 for android 13, 14 and iOS 17, you can get Carlinkit 5.0 Air2 and solve all your problems!

Now you will have fast wireless and proper connection without any problems. It supports all new Android or iOS devices. It also has double-sided tape, it is very small and cannot be seen with a small usb type c to type cable.

Now I am very happy! Happy and problem-free km to everyone!

Hi,

Sorry for replying late, Skoda released an update for software 469 about 1 year ago, it is a 2 part update to software 741/742 for men3 radios(bolero)

Does that update provide wireless connection?

Unfortunately not, but it does still have stability improvements over the 469 software
