Octavia Elegance.

Featured Replies

Hi guys and girls. I'm new to site ,so please be gentle with me.

Can anyone say it £4000  would be a good price to pay for a 2011 Octavia elegance hatchback with 67000 miles on the clock. A family member would like to buy.

Thanks.  Jazzyjeff.

As I am sure you know, we can't judge without more information.

But the main thing is condition, condition, condition. And I don't just mean body work and interior but regular servicing, MOT comments and failures (.gov mot page for the registration), fault codes, warranty type offered etc.

I think the price is about right for a reasonable condition car at a good dealer with decent warranty.

cheers for the info. Really appreciated .

What engine are you going for?

Hi . Thanks for your interest. I think it's a diesel 1.5.   It's not for me however as I have a DSG estate .   Any info on a 2011 , hatchback would be gratefully received.

I assume you mean 1,6 diesel, not much goes wrong mk2 diesel engines with regular annual servicing so if there is no service history just walk away.

Guess other things to watch out for is when was the cambelt and water pump last changed, as if it hasn't been done you might be able to knock something off the price.

Hi wiilydog.  Great advice, thank you for taking the time to assist me.

The 1.6TDI has issues with it's injectors, at that age, I'd want to see some evidence it's had a set, or factor in needing one or two in the next couple of years.

Thanks to all who have given me help.
