Spark plug change interval

Featured Replies

I have a 2021 1.5 TSI petrol estate with 48k km on it.

Garage says it's time to change the spark plugs (without looking at them of course). Is it? Or is there more life left in them?

Hi, not an exact science. As per Skoda UK, service interval for spark plugs is 4 years or 40k miles. But at the end is always about your risk appetite, but I would say yes, it's time to change them.

SUK say 4 years/64_000 km whichever comes first; I'd be unhappy about leaving them that long.

I changed them in my 1.2 TSI Yeti after 4 years. Can't say by their look they really needed it but for £40 I changed all 4. You need a thin wall spanner to get in there.

So I don't think changing quicker is necessary.
