Stick the reg number into the search box at chipex.co.uk and you'll find the VIN in the resulting URL at the top of the page.

Thanks for the mention, it is handy, used it a lot, been a god send checking out potential cars and option list by VIN, I'm surprised it still works with GDPR as every other free reg checker doesn't give the VIN any more, can't remember how I came across it but sure it was from a BMW forum when I was trying to find options on a 330D, so all credit goes to the person that found it.
