Well I got my new Silver VRS yesterday. It looks fabulous and drives well, though I haven't had much chance to get out in yet due to work commitments. The only complaint I have is I can't see the CD display when Iv'e got my sun glasses on. I suppose I'll have to ditch the glasses and get the windows tinted.

What's the seat material like?

Soft. A lot softer than the MK I. A little tighter around the butt, a bit more huggy. I like

I'm not sure how durable the mesh will be, but that freyed on the MK I, too...

are they 07 models, ie with the new red calipers and aux/ipod socket?

No unfortunatley mines an 06 model. But to be honest I prefer the green calipers.

Mine arrived on Tuesday, green calipers. Not bothered as isn't green the correct Skoda colour? I would guess the switch to red is a cost saving exercise so parts can be shared across the group of manufacturers.

06, but mine's been in the showroom since May.

FWIW, the replacement they now have in the showroom is a black hatch with (a least) 18s and Jumbo - and it's still an 06 with green calipers (which is my pref anyway )

I can't believe how small and chunky the car looks on my drive. Very Tonka! Looks smaller but beefier than my silver 03 Octy vRS did...
