Skoda Superb Mk2 - 2012 2.0 TDI ELEGANCE 170bhp - DRIVERS DOOR CONTROL MODULE

Featured Replies

Can anyone shed any light on the problem I am having with my car's driver door control module please.

The problem started with smoke coming from my wing mirror whilst I was driving and then the fuse blew, I thought it may have been something to do with the mirror heater burning out but then I noticed my central locking wouldn't work and then my windows wouldn't open... Then my dashboard display came up with the message "Driver Assist Button Faulty".

Thinking the button module on the driver's door handle was faulty, I bought a replacement but it didn't fix the problem so I tx0hen took the door panel off to inspect the wiring and found a major problem, the wires going to the control module were melted to the point that the two main red/brown wires had no plastic shielding for about 30mm from the socket, and the two bear copper wirers were stuck together, and the stock (the one with the red release tab in the middle of the three bottom sockets) had melted to the main body, and the module itself is showing signs of burning out.

i now need to buy a new loom, and a new control module, the part number on the unit is 8X0-969-793-E  H09, I found one on e-bay with the same part number but when I look at the pin-outs of the replacement module, they are different

My existing pin-outs on this socket are  1, (2&3 missing), 4,5,6,7,8,9 on the bottom row, then 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 on the top row

The replacement pins on this socket are 1, (2,3,4 missing) 5,6,7,8 (9 missing) on the bottom row, then 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 on the top row

Is there another number on the module that I need to check to make sure the part I want is the part I order?

Cheers

Paul
