The part code for that gasket is 002301227A or 959022407 ?

Worth to install a VIKA or must i search for another brand?

Do i need a gearbox oil change after removing this or the mechanic will collect everything will come out and throw it back?

When was the last time you changed your gearbox oil?

5-6 years ago.

The cost of that bushing is 1.5 € only but the mechanic will charge me a lot for the disassembly-assembly work.

Opportunity now to put in fresh gear oil of a higher quality than you did 5-6 years ago if you want.  Why would you put the old oil back in if it's that old and the labour work expensive.  Clean fresh oil is the way to go.  You could also ask the mechanic to keep the old oil for you to see how good it looks and if there are any bits in it., whether the mechanic is able to follow this simple request and task is another matter, but then you have trusted him to do the work.  Personally I would prefer a woman to work on the car as there is more likelihood that a woman would be able to do the work better and carry out your request without hassle, but they probably, very sensibly, prefer women as customers.  I would think you would want everything as clean as possible when dealing with rubber bushings to prevent earlier wear on them anyway.

Skoda says gear oil change after 60.000 km, i have done about 25-30.000 km.

I have ordered that rubber bushing, tomorrow morning i will get it to the repair shop.

Problems solved, well for now anyway. 🙃

I didn't has time yesterday, i had to buy new gear oil because the car was already inside the repair shop. No time for extended search, wait for shipping etc. This gear oil is Synthetic, the previous Motul that i had was Semi synthetic.

As i said i had no options, the car was inside the repair shop, gearshift seal and expansion tank was ready to pick them up from another parts shop.

In few hours yesterday afternoon i had to find gear oil GL-4 so there would be no 2nd visit to the repair shop, now was the chance were the car was lifted for the coolant change.

I searched in 2-3 shops in the area via their website and the best option was this Castrol or the previous Motul.

I had to decide and buy in 3 hours, i ordered via phone and left my job to go there, buy and return fast as i could.

First impressions from the new Synthetic gear oil: One click quieter changes that before, very positive feeling, tested in  reverse too.

Although it's too early i am very happy, Skoda says change after 60.000 Km but i will do a change after 30-40.000 Km.

Good news.  Mileage is only a guide there are many variables that could mean earlier changes could be better, low mileage town/city driving being one example.

Most/all? car mechanics and car engineers will tell you your impressions are all placebo.  The oil you put the photo up for, a Castrol long life, would be a a basic quality nothing wrong with it but they and other do better for not much extra cost or even less cost depending on when you buy.  The one you bought if like in that photo is previous labelling so hopefully you might have got it at a lower price.

The gear changes are smoother and the ''click" sound every time i engage is much lower than before. The original gear oil (i don't know what brand) was worst than Motul and that Castrol is better from both of them.

The new is Dark Green but still in GR the majority have that ''olive beige" one.

There is another one, the No Transmax and the Syntrax but they told me this is discontinued.

Here is the whole list

If you want Castrol then go for this one next time. - https://classicoilsshop.co.uk/castrol-syntrans-75w90

Castrol Classic Oils are run by the MG Owners Club in the UK.

I used the equivalent Castrol Systrans for manual gearbox in the 5-speed Ford Type 9 in my MG Midget and I found it to be noticeable better, at least when first filled, very good for cold weather when the gearbox was still cold.

ETA: removed  photo as bottle might be different in Greece.

A seller told me that Castrol Systrans is discontinued and only few bottles are in stock in the market till the end.

There will be bottles around elsewhere for a few years yet, as long as they're not say five years since bottling and you give the bottle a little shake and settle before use it'll be fine, obviously the fresher the better, date printed on neck of bottle.  I'm sure Castrol will has a replacement for it as they usually do, might be a different name, label, bottle as in the MG Owner's Club link I gave you it shows two different bottles.  The manual gearbox oil I used I could follow back to the 1980s, it was red then (red dye added for the new 5-speed boxes Ford and Vauxhall were using at the time.

Castrol Uk and Ireland

manual transmission fluid product range:

I take little notice of their database, they play it safe and seem to  go for what the likes of VW tell or dictate to them but I did look at their site and used their look up and saw they put the TRANSMAX MANUAL FE 75W labelled as 75W but I thought as you live in a warmer place the 75W90 would be better for you, from the same site, note the image of the bottle which is same as the alternative image on the MG Owners club  oil site. - https://www.castrol.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/home/car-engine-oil-and-fluids/driveline-fluids/manual-transmission-fluids.html#tab_transmax-manual-multivehicle-75w-90

I've been going to the MG Owner's Club brick headquarters in Swavesey since the earlier 1990s of and on and know a few people their since then and they knew and interacted with the multi-marque classic and sportscar car club I've been a member of since 1997.  They also do a ten year life coolant that would frighten you as it will find any weeps or leaks your car has, they took over the contract for it a few years back, I've bought gallons (well 5 litre containers) of the stuff over the decades for old and brand new cars.
