Random Alarm

Featured Replies

2021 1.5TS estate. My car alarm went off just now on the drive for no reason, and there was no way I could stop it. Unlocked car, started car, stopped car, locked car. All made no difference and had coninual 20 second alarm, 5 seconds quiet, 20 seconds alarm, 5 seconds quiet for about 5 minutes, until all my neighbours were staring out of their windows at the idiot who couldn't turn off his alarm. Eventually I had to drive it 2 miles up the road to give them some peace. After about a mile it went off and stayed off. For now.
Does anyone have any ideas why it would go off. Nothing loose in the car, no insects flying around in it.
Question is; when the alarm goes off again, which no doubt it will, probably in the middle of the night, how can I override it and turn it off? Any assistance appreciated.

Sorry I can't help but I've had the alarm go off with the car not used for 3 or 4 days three times now.. Any ideas would be helpful.
Base Software is V1969 & the odd "Maps" update.

The alarm on mine did the same thing a couple of days ago when I was going to work just before 7 in the morning.

I was walking up to the car & was about 20 feet away from it when the alarm went off.

I couldn't do anything to stop it no matter what I did with the fob. Unlocked it, started it, turned the engine off, got out & locked it again.

I did the same thing in the end, drove off & stopped a few hundred yards down the road where I wasn’t disturbing the neighbours!!.

Tried all sorts checking menus & then it just stopped on its own.

The first time this has happened in the 2 years I've had the car & its been OK since.

2022 VRS.

Weird.
