Ok, so I don't clean the inside of my 2022 Octavia as often as I should, slap on wrist received, but I looked under the front passenger (left) seat and found this nice, clean, newish looking part which has (I believe) fallen from somewhere into the front left footwell, from under the dash or the left front seat. Can anyone tell me what it is and where it should go???

The smaller 'gear' (although stiff) rotates inside the body. The date stamp on the part is 2 10 21 which is right for the car build date. Other markings on it include a large 'Z', 'ITW' a number '8' and a letter 'A' ??Thanks in advance.

That is the pawl that damps the glove compartment as it opens. It fits inside the stay lever on the left side of the glovebox. I suspect it got displaced when the pollen filter was changed - or the fuse board was accessed.  

Thanks for your support and very prompt reply. I sussed it out when I realised that the glove box cover just dropped quickly instead of slowly opening. I had changed the cabin filter a few days ago, and obviously not realised that this part had fallen out. Changing cabin filter? watch out that this part does not fall out. Thanks again.👍🤠
