Passenger door mirror in reverse (not what you think)😬🤷🏻‍♂️

Featured Replies

I’ve recently taken ownership of a 2019 272 Sportline. Love it. However as I’m going through and getting the settings right for me, I’ve come across a strange situation.
The passenger door mirror is set to “dip” when reverse gear is engaged, however, the mirror does not dip. IT DOES move. But it only moves sideways and then, bizarrely, up. But doesn’t dip. Can this be adjusted or is the motor malfunctioning?
Any shared experiences of similar issues most appreciated.

The fact it moves sounds like you have the dial set to the left mirror which is good otherwise it wouldn’t move.

What you need to do now is start the car, put it in reverse (wait for it to do what it’s doing now) then adjust the mirror how you want it for reverse.

Drive forward over 10mph or whatever it is then you should see the mirror return up, then stop put it in reverse and it should go back to where you just set it, if it does that and you have memory seats set it.

If it doesn’t go down then maybe it’s had a whack in the past and it’s fubar, try above first though

When you adjust it manually, does it move correctly? I had an issue where RHS was selected and it would move the left in a different direction!

Great. I’ll give that a go and report back. Thanks so much for the advice. 👍🏼

Yes all other directional inputs are accurate. I’ll give Danoid’s advice a go and see how it pans out. Thanks for your input. 👍🏼

How old is your battery?

A friend of mine had a similar problem in her MK3 Estate MY18. It was caused by a weak battery. Everything came back to normal once battery was replaced.
