Windows and roof self opening when parked

Featured Replies

Car locked this morning, using KESSY defeat (lock with fob and immediately touch door handle outer).

went out to car 4 hours later, all windows open and sunroof popped up!

Any ideas?

If you press and hold the unlock button on remote windows and sunroof will open, obviously something pressed button in your pocket.

Have to leave car outside, as new kitchen units have filled the garage!!! Thought it safest to cancel KISSY, but given myself a major problem instead. Too many keys on keyring, so understand one or more pressing on button. Thanks for that info.

You can disable/enable that feature in the setup menu. The feature appeals to me but I have it disabled, following experience with my previous VW, twice found all windows had been left open overnight while parked outside. Fortunately on the drive and not visible from the road.

I have the opposite issue. The Yeti would close its sunroof if the car was left parked with the roof open and it began to rain.  It seems the Karoq (Sportline) does not. Or is there a setting I have missed?

I've had the same issue, 3 may be 4 times, with my 2021 SE Drive when parked on my drive overnight. I don't have KESSY and the keys are hanging in a cupboard, so no chance of accidental activation.  What I do have however is military aircraft (RAF & USAF) flying overhead regularly so I've put it down to that. So far haven't been caught out with rain inside.

Many years ago I had a Peugeot and while holidaying in the Lake District the car refused to start after a low flying RAF plane passed overhead.

Can’t really see the point of it, unless getting a bit of cool air in car whilst parked. Would have thought I would hear the windows opening, being close enough for fob to be read, seeing how close you have to be for KESSY to work.

Might just get it checked for any fault codes, at the dealer.

The distance from the car is completely different if using Kessy as a keep in pocket key, where you need to be close.

If you press buttons on key fob it then transmits more like conventional remote (at higher power and thus distance) so you can be in your lounge and lock/unlock car on driveway, or lock it from a distance if you have started walking away in a car park.

Holding buttons down for many seconds, operates the convenience features like opening all windows to help cool the car on hot day.

On the Yeti, I think the auto close of the roof depends on the wiper stalk being left in “auto/rain-detecting” position. Try that?

Mine does have "rain closing" feature in the setup menu. 2018 SE L

Interesting.  The setup menu does not have that feature on a 2023 Sportline, nor is there any reference to it in the owners' manual.

There are many, many posts about rain closing on the OBDEleven forum for various VAG cars.  I didn't see anything suggesting it can be coded to activate for the Karoq but I may have missed it.

On the Yeti it was controlled by a setting in the 'Convenience' section of the Maxi-Dot display.
